My Note:  For a long time Rev. Chas Holmes was in Delavan.  These people are not related to us.  L. P. Holmes was also a reverend.

Source:  Delavan Enterprise, July 22, 1891.  Rector of St. John, Elkhorn resigned last Monday to accept a call to Sussex, Wisconsin.  Has been at St. John's about three years.  Sussex is about 12 miles north of Waukesha

Source:  Delavan Enterprise:  July 22, 1891:  Elkhorn section.  Rev. L. P. Holmes, rector of St. John's Episcopal church resigned last Monday and has accepted a call of a church at Sussex, 12 miles north of Waukesha and will assume duties there September 1.  Holmes has been with St. John's a little more than three years.

Article mentions family of Charlse Holmes, rector of Christ church who expects to leave with his family to their new home in St. Paul the last of the week.

J. B. Holmes was one of the people who signed resignation of Holmes.  J. B. was member of the wardens and vestry of Christ Church, Delavan.
